Money Saving Tips

Consider some of these popular suggestions that our customers and staff have been doing for years to save money at their own parties.

Set a budget

Don’t plan your party without setting a budget before you begin. If you have a fixed dollar amount then it is easier to make decisions about the style of party you would like to host.

Limit your total number of guests

You may have to limit your total number of guests in order to create the party you are hoping for.

Party Time

You can often save on food and beverage expenses by hosting a daytime event like a brunch or lunch. Bar selections can be limited or eliminated entirely which will be a huge cost savings.

Don't mail your invites

Paper invitations are often used for the most formal parties or corporate events. If you can still communicate you party details using an email invitation then this will save the cost of printing and mailing invitations

BYOB and other Bar Tricks

If your event is casual you can always let your guests know that you will only be providing non alcoholic beverages and they are welcome to bring alcoholic beverages of their choice. If you aren’t comfortable with this option then consider making a specialty drink or punch that you can make in a large batch and serve to your guests. This is often quite economic. Look for wine specials at your liquor store and remember that you can often return unopened bottles after the party as long as the bottle labels are not damaged.

Affordable Themes

Select a theme that will allow you to economize on your menu. A few suggestions:

  • Make your own taco night
  • A pizza party
  • A pasta night
  • Desserts only

Allow your guests to bring a dish or consider providing the entrée and having your guests bring the appetizers, dessert or a salad.
