An Earth Day Promise: Pedersen’s Commitment to Being a No Waste Facility

Earth Day gets people thinking about what actions they can take to live in environmentally friendly ways. At Pedersen’s we strive to maintain this mindset throughout the year and with carbon emissions continuing to rise, we understand that this is more important than ever. Pedersen’s has over 500,000 rental items in stock, all of which needs to be maintained and cleaned. In order to minimize our environmental footprint, we have taken the following steps to become a no waste facility.

1. We follow a no plastic bag initiative! All of our glassware is stored and delivered in reusable bins. If we do use bags, we ensure that they are 100% biodegradable.

2. To help clean all of the dishes, Pedersen’s uses high efficiency machines such as our Meiko dishwasher and natural gas laundry machines. We also have a hanging process with our linens, which saves a significant amount of energy.

3. Pursuit to be paper free! In 2014, we started to incorporate a paperless warehouse and office environment. All of our warehouse and delivery personnel use I-Pads to check deliveries and pickups.

4. Even our water is environmentally conscious! We use instant hot water tanks, which use less water and require less energy.

5. When possible, we purchase products that are made with sustainable materials such as bamboo.

At Pedersen’s, environmental initiatives are happening at all levels within the organization – from simple efforts to save energy on a daily basis, to acquiring the best energy efficient machines. All of our procedures have been developed with a Green initiative plan so you can feel good about using our products.
