Four Insider Tips for Designing a Dark and Moody Wedding

Looking to created a wedding that is unique with a bit of edge? Although a classic bright, colorful design is what many brides are looking for, some seek to create something with a moody, romantic feel.

We've collaborated with the fantastic Spectra Event Group to bring you four insider tips on how to create a wedding with a dark, moody design:

Feature dark and mysterious hues.
The following color palette is a trend that works for nearly every style and season: forest green, plum purple, midnight blue, and black. These jewel tones feature a richness that creates a moody, romantic ambiance.

Select a refurbished venue.
A refurbished venue, such as a loft or warehouse, is the ideal setting for a design full of deep, rich hues. Elements like exposed brick walls, dark floors, and industrial features will only enhance an edgy design.

Layer table decor.
Start with a polished wood table, like a Farm Table, that is a decorative piece in itself. Next, add layers of textural décor and a variety of candles for ambiance. No need for a tablecloth, instead feature a runner to add color and enhance the centerpieces.

Feature black in your dinnerware.
Feature black plates and black flatware to create contrast and add depth to a table. Pairing a black charger with a colored salad plate is a great way to add color!
