How to Create a New Year’s Masquerade Party
- Dec 18, 2018
Pop the champagne and welcome the New Year with this spectacular masquerade themed party! Think gold sequins, black plates, masks, and feathers.

1. Dress Code:
Masquerade parties are all about opulence and class. It’s a chance for people to dress up and have fun! Create a formal dress code for the evening and encourage guests to create their own glamorous masks. You may also choose to provide masks or offer face painting.
2. Design:
We went with Gold Glass Sequin Linen as it’s glamorous and reflects light to make everything sparkle! To add to the feeling of opulence, gold flatware and Gold Rim Glass Charger Plates were used. The transparent chargers let the sequins shine through while their subtle gold rim helped tie things together.
Black plates, black napkins and black chairs were used to add pops of contrast and create a feeling of mystery. Our friends at Christopher J Design provided the décor, which included masks, feathers, candle holders and a giant gold star. Every piece of the design fit together perfectly.
3. Food and Drink:
Champagne! You can’t have a New Year’s party without popping some bubbly. You might also choose to create and serve a masquerade themed cocktail. For food, serve up a variety of fancy canapés. Remember, everything should look extravagant!
4. Dancing:
Masquerade parties are all about dancing! Ensure you have some music to get guests moving and a place for them to do so!
