Make a Statement by Mix and Matching Dinnerware
- Feb 21, 2020
Want to make a statement with your place settings? Achieve this by mix and matching dinnerware!
Determining a design for your table that is fresh and unique is not always easy. To help inspire you, we've curated two different mix and match place settings featuring our Stoneware and Velo Flatware!
Look One: Bold and Romantic
The idea of featuring black on a table can sometimes be a daunting one, however; when paired with the right items, it creates a look that is bold and romantic. We paired a Grey Stoneware Dinner Plate with a Black Stoneware Charger and Black Stoneware Salad Plate. The grey stands out beautifully and highlights the texture and shape of this fantastic stoneware.
For the flatware, we strayed away from tradition and mix matched Brushed Gold Velo and Brushed Gold/Black Velo. It looks fabulous paired together! The matte black tied in the plates while the gold added a pop of color.
To add to the bold and romantic theme, we opted for a Black Hemstiched Dinner Napkin. There's something beautifully moody about the gold and black flatware on the black napkin.
As this place setting has such a strong design, we needed glassware that could hold its' own. The choice was easy - our Cut Crystal Wine Glass and Cut Crystal Old Fashion Glass are classic, sophisticated, and they make an impression!

Look Two: Light and Dreamy
For the second look, we wanted to create a light and dreamy place setting that would be perfect for spring. We mix and matched a Linen Stoneware Charger and a Linen Stoneware Salad Plate with a Grey Stoneware Dinner Plate. Our linen stoneware is a natural cream colour, which combined with the grey to create a calming, light color palette.
To maintain the calm feel of the design, we mix matched Brushed Silver Velo Flatware with Silver/Grey Velo Flatware. When combined, their differences are subtle but beautiful, and they add a feeling of elegance to the table.
As this design is all about simplicity, we featured a Stemless All Purpose Glass. Its low stature softly blended in with the rest of the setting, allowing the stoneware and flatware be the focal point.
Lastly, we opted for a Grey Hemstitched Linen Napkin, which tied in the grey from the flatware and the grey plate. All of the elements combine to create a design that is light, unique, and dreamworthy!
